Fraction Arithmetic Rules
- Addition/Subtraction: Find a common denominator, then add/subtract numerators. a/b ± c/d = (a×d ± c×b) ÷ (b×d)
- Multiplication: Multiply numerators together and denominators together. a/b × c/d = (a×c) ÷ (b×d)
- Division: Multiply by the reciprocal of the divisor. a/b ÷ c/d = a/b × d/c

Yes. Every result is automatically reduced to its simplest form (lowest terms / GCD reduction).
Can it handle mixed numbers (e.g. 2½)?
Yes. Enter the whole number part in the "Integer" field, numerator in the top field, and denominator in the bottom field. For 2½, enter 2 as the integer, 1 as numerator, 3 as denominator.
